Becoming a college basketball player is a dream come true for many high school athletes. However, the reality is that only a small percentage of high school athletes actually make it to the college level. The odds of becoming a college basketball player are not in your favor.

According to the NCAA, there are approximately 550,000 high school basketball players in the United States. Out of those 550,000 players, only about 3.4% will go on to play college basketball. That means that out of every 100 high school basketball players, only three or four will become college basketball players.

The chances of becoming a Division I basketball player are even slimmer. According to the NCAA, only about 1.2% of high school basketball players will go on to play Division I basketball. That means that out of every 100 high school basketball players, only one or two will become Division I basketball players.

It's important to note that these statistics are not meant to discourage aspiring college basketball players. Rather, they are meant to provide a realistic picture of the odds that they are up against. With hard work, dedication, and talent, it is possible to beat the odds and become a college basketball player.
