Academics play a crucial role in the journey of becoming a college basketball player. In fact, it's almost impossible to become a college basketball player without meeting certain academic requirements. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has set minimum academic standards that student-athletes must meet to be eligible to play. These standards include a minimum grade point average (GPA) and achieving a certain score on standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT.

It's important to note that these standards vary depending on the division of the NCAA a school belongs to. Division I school's typically have higher academic standards than Division II or III schools.

In addition to meeting NCAA requirements, it's important for student-athletes to prioritize their academic success. Coaches and recruiters look for players who not only excel on the court but also in the classroom. This is because college basketball players are students first and athletes second.

Maintaining good grades and a strong academic record not only increases the chances of becoming a college basketball player, but it also sets a strong foundation for future success in the workforce. It's important for student-athletes to prioritize their education and work hard in the classroom in order to achieve their dreams of playing college basketball.
