In relation to this matter, Vice Chancellor of Intercollegiate, Chris Robinson, made an announcement stating that there has been a three-year extension agreed upon by UAPB and Golden Lions Men's Basketball Head Coach, Solomon Bozeman, ensuring his continuation with the team.

Over the past two years, coach Bozeman has introduced an exhilarating style of basketball to UAPB. As a collective unit, the Golden Lions were ranked 39th nationally in steals per game (8.1) and achieved top-five positions in nine different categories within the SWAC Conference. This success was led by Shaun Doss, a native of Arkansas, who secured the conference's highest scoring title (548) with an average of 17.7 points per game.
