According to Eric Bossi of 247Sports, Mikey Williams, a guard for Memphis, will be participating in the transfer portal.

In the composite rankings for the 2023 recruiting class by 247Sports, Williams held the No. 51 spot amongst all players.

Despite being a true freshman for the Tigers, Williams has not played for the team due to his arrest in April, which was about a shooting incident that occurred in Southern California in March. He later pleaded guilty to the felony charge of making criminal threats in November.

Williams' Memphis career may not be definitively over by entering the portal, yet indications suggest it is moving in that direction. Making this choice implies a low probability of him participating in the 2023-24 season, even if he ultimately rejoins the Tigers.
