Over the past year, the buzz surrounding Yousaf Ahmad has been steadily growing, and at Peach Jam, the 6’7” big guard out of King Heights Academy (Vaughan, Ontario) showed why. Playing for UPLAY White in the EYCL, Ahmad delivered an all-around performance that demanded attention.

In his first game, Ahmad tallied 21 points on an efficient 9-of-13 shooting, including 3-of-5 from three-point range. He also added 5 assists, 3 steals, and 3 blocks, showcasing his ability to impact the game in multiple ways.

Ahmad plays with a high basketball IQ and a strong feel for the game. He rebounds well for his position, pushes the ball in transition—either with the dribble or with pinpoint outlet passes—and has the versatility to create offense from multiple spots on the floor. His shooting ability is a weapon, both off the catch and off the dribble, and his shifty handle allows him to attack the rim using pace and angles to keep defenders off balance.

Despite flying somewhat under the radar, Ahmad’s size, skill set, and versatility make him one of the most intriguing prospects in the Canadian pipeline. With continued exposure on the EYCL stage, college coaches would be wise to take a closer look.
