Tigers Roaring Back for 2025-2026

The Wasatch Academy Tigers (UT) are coming off one of their strongest seasons to date — finishing 25-5 and sharing the Nike EYBL Scholastic regular-season championship with Bella Vista Prep (AZ) and Brewster Academy (NH). Under head coach Paul Peterson, the Tigers have firmly cemented themselves among the nation’s elite prep programs, combining depth, discipline, and year-round development.

With much of their core intact and key new faces joining the fold, Wasatch is once again positioned as a premier contender — and a strong candidate to make a return trip to the Chipotle Nationals for the second consecutive season.

Key Returnees Lead the Charge

Experience wins in March, and Wasatch brings plenty of it back to Mount Pleasant.

  • 2026 Katrelle Harmon — Creighton commit and versatile guard who thrives in transition and has become one of the most complete two-way players in the EYBL Scholastic.

  • 2026 Junior County — Athletic forward who excels in the open floor and provides consistent rebounding and energy.

  • 2026 Manu Manciel — Reliable frontcourt presence with an expanding offensive game and rim-protection instincts.

Together, this trio provides a balanced core of scoring, leadership, and toughness that sets the tone for the Tigers’ identity.

Newcomers Add Firepower

Coach Peterson and staff didn’t stand pat — they added two dynamic talents who are ready to make an immediate impact:

  • 2026 Chidi Nwigwe — Explosive guard with strong defensive instincts and shot-making ability from multiple levels.

  • 2026 Jayden Johnson — High-IQ wing with excellent feel for spacing and playmaking versatility.

Both players fit Wasatch’s style perfectly — fast, unselfish, and defensively relentless.

The Road Ahead

The biggest question surrounding the 2025-2026 Tigers isn’t whether they’ll be good — it’s how far they can go.
With a blend of returning experience, high-level newcomers, and the proven culture under Coach Peterson, Wasatch Academy looks fully capable of another deep postseason push — and possibly another ticket to Chipotle Nationals.
