Douglass Sends a Message in PSL Quarterfinal Victory
Written by Paul Garwood
Playoff basketball has a way of revealing depth, and Detroit Douglass showed plenty of it Tuesday night. In a commanding 80-47 win over Detroit Davis Aerospace, Douglass moved on to the Detroit PSL Tournament semifinals with a performance built on balance, energy, and execution.
Four players finished in double figures, a sign of a team that trusts its system and shares the spotlight. Quinn Davis and Damani Oliver each scored 16 points, setting the tone offensively and pushing the pace. Both guards attacked confidently and made smart reads, keeping the defense in rotation throughout the night.
Kamari Howard delivered one of the most complete performances of the game. He finished with 11 points and 15 rebounds, controlling the glass and giving Douglass second-chance opportunities. His physical presence inside helped establish dominance in the paint and limited Detroit Davis Aerospace to one-shot possessions on the other end.
Joshua Brooks added 10 points, continuing the balanced offensive effort. When multiple players contribute, it becomes difficult for opposing defenses to key in on one option. Douglass displayed that type of collective rhythm from start to finish.
With the victory, Douglass improves to 14 and 6 on the season and carries momentum into the semifinal round. The team’s ability to defend, rebound, and share scoring responsibility makes them a serious contender moving forward.
Detroit Davis Aerospace falls to 12 and 3 with the loss. Despite the setback, the season has been strong overall, and the program continues to show competitiveness within the PSL landscape.
As the tournament progresses, Douglass has made one thing clear. They are not relying on one star. They are advancing with depth, discipline, and belief.
