January 31 Standouts: Morning Leads a Night of Balanced Scoring Across the State
03/01/2026

January 31 delivered another competitive slate across Michigan, with efficient scoring and balanced production standing out as the defining themes of the night.
Kaiden Morning of Ann Arbor Huron led the group with 27 points, setting the tone with confident shot selection and steady offensive pressure. When a player approaches thirty, it often reflects rhythm within the offense and the ability to convert in key stretches. Morning’s performance placed him at the top of this group and reinforced his value as a primary option.
Grand Blanc placed two players among the top scorers, as Emmanuel Cooley finished with 25 points and Geo Cannon added 22. That type of dual production speaks to spacing, ball movement, and trust within the system. When two players consistently threaten the twenty-point mark, defensive schemes must stretch, creating opportunities across the floor.
Miles Burgin of Grand Rapids Central also poured in 22 points, while Brayden Williams of Grand Rapids Northview added 20, including four made three-point shots. Perimeter efficiency remains a major difference maker in tight matchups, and shooting at that level forces opponents to adjust coverage quickly.
The most noticeable takeaway from January 31 is balance. Multiple programs featured more than one high-level scorer, and perimeter shooting once again played a significant role. As the season moves deeper into its most important stretch, performances like these will continue to shape momentum and confidence across the state.
