Every program values wings who can impact both ends of the floor. At East Lansing High School, Kingston Thomas is steadily developing into that type of player.

At 6-foot-5, Thomas brings ideal size for a modern perimeter prospect. He has the length and frame to play multiple positions, and his versatility shows up in how he contributes. He is not locked into one role. He can defend, rebound, run the floor, and make plays within the flow of the game.

Thomas’ game is built on activity and effort. He plays with a strong motor, consistently finding ways to impact possessions without needing the ball in his hands every time down the floor. He runs in transition, crashes the glass, and positions himself well for scoring opportunities around the rim. Those habits translate to winning basketball.

Offensively, Thomas shows flashes of a well-rounded skill set. He can finish through contact, handle the ball in space, and make plays when attacking downhill. When he gets into the lane, he has the ability to absorb contact and still complete plays. As his game continues to evolve, the next step will be improving consistency as a perimeter shooter. That development will be key in expanding his scoring profile and making him a more complete offensive threat.

What stands out is his ability to play within a team structure. He does not force offense. Instead, he takes what the defense gives him, which keeps him efficient and allows the game to come naturally. That feel is important, especially for a wing who is still expanding his offensive responsibilities.

Defensively, Thomas has the tools to be impactful. His size and length allow him to guard multiple positions on the perimeter, and when he is locked in, he can disrupt passing lanes and contest shots effectively. The next step is maintaining that same level of intensity and focus on every possession, which will elevate him into a more consistent two-way presence.

Within East Lansing’s system, Thomas projects as a connector piece, helping tie everything together. He brings energy, physicality, and a willingness to do the little things that often decide games. Those are traits that coaches notice, even when they do not always show up in the box score.

From a recruiting standpoint, Thomas fits the mold of a developmental wing with upside. His size, motor, and defensive potential give him a strong baseline. As his perimeter shooting, ball-handling under pressure, and overall offensive consistency continue to improve, his recruitment will continue to gain traction.

The development path is clear. Add strength, refine the jumper, and continue building confidence as a creator. If those areas progress, Thomas has the tools to become a reliable two-way wing at the next level.

Kingston Thomas is still developing, but the foundation is there. Size, effort, and versatility are traits that travel, and he brings all three. As his skill set continues to catch up with his physical tools, his impact will only continue to grow.
