Not every player measures success by points alone. Some leave the biggest impression through leadership, consistency, and the ability to impact every part of the game. Artis Hampton did exactly that throughout the summer.

The 5-foot-10 Class of 2027 guard from Covenant Preparatory School (Kingwood, Texas) built on an impressive junior season in which he averaged 11.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. His all-around play helped Covenant Preparatory capture the TAPPS 1A State Championship, finish undefeated in District 7-1A, and earn another district title.

Hampton carried that momentum into the grassroots season with Blessed TX 2025.

During GASO competition, he averaged 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.0 steal per game. On The Circuit, he followed with averages of 11.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game, continuing to contribute in multiple statistical categories.

While the numbers are solid, they only tell part of the story.

Hampton is a true floor general who plays with poise and purpose. He keeps the offense organized, makes timely decisions with the basketball, and consistently puts teammates in position to succeed. He doesn't need a high volume of shots to influence a game because his value comes from controlling the pace, defending with energy, and making winning plays throughout the course of a game.

His efforts earned recognition during the live period. Hampton was named to the All-Duel Third Team in his debut at DFW vs. Everybody on The Circuit and later earned All-Session First Team honors during his GASO debut.

His summer has also translated into continued recruiting interest. Hampton has reported scholarship offers from St. Xavier University, William Penn University, Ottawa University, Central Christian University, Wiley University, and Bethel College.

Off the court, Hampton has been equally impressive. He carries a 4.2 GPA and has earned First Team All-District and Second Team All-State honors while helping lead one of the state's championship programs.

Artis Hampton's summer reinforced the type of player he has become. He consistently contributed as a scorer, facilitator, rebounder, and defender while helping his team compete at a high level. His ability to affect the game in so many different ways makes him a valuable piece on any roster.

As he enters his senior season, Hampton brings the confidence that comes from winning a state championship and another productive grassroots campaign. His combination of basketball IQ, leadership, academic success, and all-around production gives college coaches a complete student-athlete who understands what it takes to win.
