Seven All-N-One Labor Day Showcase Standouts Building Their Futures Beyond Basketball

The All-N-One Labor Day Showcase gave student-athletes another opportunity to compete, gain exposure and put their abilities in front of coaches and evaluators. But basketball tells only part of their stories.

The players who came to Houston are also students, volunteers, young leaders, entrepreneurs in the making and future professionals. Some have already mapped out what they want to study in college and where they hope their careers eventually take them. Others are still determining that path.

Elite Hoops Spotlight takes a closer look at seven players who stood out around the All-N-One Labor Day Showcase, not only for what they are building in basketball, but for what they hope to accomplish beyond it.

Jack Brewer | 2027 | 6'2" | Langham Creek High School

Jack Brewer has quietly built a résumé that combines varsity experience, academics and continued basketball development.

The Class of 2027 guard is a third-year varsity letterman at Langham Creek. He earned 16-6A Honorable Mention All-District honors for the 2025-26 season while also being named Academic All-District for the second consecutive year.

Brewer averaged 9.9 points and 3.3 rebounds during the 2025-26 season. His basketball recognition extends outside school competition. He has been named a top performer at the Prep Hoops Circuit Space City Collision and Off the Radar Exposure's Warm-Up Showcase and was recognized as a standout performer at the Rucker on Wood showcase for the Class of 2027.

Brewer previously spent four years with Just Play Elite.

Academically, Brewer reports a 6.02 GPA on his school's 6.0 weighted scale, a 3.4 unweighted GPA and a 1260 SAT score. He has been enrolled in a gifted and talented program since seventh grade and has earned Honor Roll recognition.

Brewer also gives back through the Langham Creek Family YMCA, where he has volunteered and works as a sports official.

He remains undecided about his college major but already has an occupational direction in mind: engineering.

Banner Carlson | 2027 | 6'4" | Magnolia High School

Basketball, academics, faith and service all occupy meaningful places in Banner Carlson's life.

The 6-foot-4 Class of 2027 prospect has established himself as a scorer at Magnolia High School, earning TABC Top Performer recognition in consecutive years. He has recorded multiple 30-plus-point games and multiple performances with six or more made three-pointers.

That production has carried into AAU basketball with Texas Takeover Elite, where Carlson reports multiple 30-point performances and games with six or more three-pointers on the Puma circuit.

Carlson averaged 15 points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal per game during his high school season. He reports averaging 17 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in AAU competition.

His work in the classroom is equally notable. Carlson reports a 4.8 GPA, a 1420 PSAT score and All-A Honor Roll recognition.

Faith is also part of his life.

Carlson participates in the Woodlands Church Worship Team and youth group. He serves on Sundays and Wednesdays, helping lead Bible studies for junior-high students and working with fourth- and fifth-grade students.

Carlson plans to major in business and lists entrepreneurship as his career goal.

For Carlson, basketball is one part of a broader profile built around academics, faith, service and a desire to eventually build something of his own.

Austin Tang | 2027 | 6'2" | Fort Bend Stephen F. Austin High School

Austin Tang has developed one of the more diverse résumés in the group.

Tang was named Varsity Defensive Player of the Year for the 2025-26 season, started at the varsity level and is a two-year letterman. He has been selected as a varsity co-captain for 2026-27.

His academic record is equally impressive.

Tang reports a 3.87 unweighted GPA and 4.2 weighted GPA, along with a 1350 SAT score. His academic recognition includes Academic Excellence, Academic Letterman and All-A Honor Roll honors.

He is also involved in his school's marching and concert bands, playing tenor and baritone saxophone, and has studied Mandarin and American Sign Language.

Tang's community involvement includes volunteering at the Chinese Community Center, including assisting with a family Halloween festival for younger students studying Chinese language and culture.

He plans to major in finance.

His career interests include financial management, real estate development or engineering, giving him several possible professional paths outside basketball.

Tang listed recruiting interest from UT Tyler, Trinity, UTSA and Houston Christian University, while his offer status was listed as TBD.

His profile reflects a student-athlete developing leadership skills and preparing for college academically while continuing to build his basketball résumé.

Travis Baymon | 2027 | 6'2"-6'3" | Langham Creek High School

Travis Baymon has been gaining meaningful high school basketball experience since his freshman season.

Baymon started during his freshman and sophomore years before moving into varsity competition as a junior at Langham Creek.

His AAU experience with Swaveway has also challenged him against older competition. Baymon played 17U basketball while still a 16U player. Among the accomplishments he reported were a 23-point performance against a Pro16 team at the NXT Pro level and a five-block game.

He reports AAU averages of approximately 13-14 points, three rebounds, 2.5 assists and one steal per game.

Baymon carries a 3.6 GPA, but his academic path is particularly noteworthy. He is a College Academy student and is on track to graduate from high school with an associate degree from Lone Star College. He also participates in his high school's Honors Program.

His future goals combine basketball with technology. He is interested in earning a degree in engineering, potentially pursuing a career as a software engineer, while also keeping alive his goal of playing professional basketball.

For Baymon, the coming years will be about continuing his development on the court while building an academic résumé that can create opportunities regardless of where basketball ultimately takes him.

Ayden Cox | 2028 | 6'0" | Lamar Consolidated High School

Ayden Cox is the youngest prospect among the seven and already has clear ideas about his future.

The Class of 2028 guard is a new varsity transfer at Lamar Consolidated and is expected to compete for a starting position.

Cox plays AAU basketball with Rashard Lewis Academy. He reports AAU production of 11 points and five assists per game, along with averages of 10.3 points, 4.6 assists, 1.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals during his high school season.

Academically, Cox carries a 3.4 GPA and reports making the A-B Honor Roll for four years.

He plans to study business in college.

His ultimate basketball goal is ambitious: reaching the NBA. Cox is also thinking about life outside basketball, identifying accounting or real estate as potential career paths.

As a 2028 prospect, Cox still has considerable time to develop. What stands out at this stage is that he is already connecting basketball with academics and possible long-term career options.

Artis Hampton | 2027 | 5'10" | Kingwood Covenant Preparatory

Artis Hampton brings championship experience, academic achievement and a growing college recruitment into his final high school season.

The 5-foot-10 guard helped Kingwood Covenant Preparatory capture an undefeated TAPPS 1A District 7 championship and a state championship. Hampton earned First Team All-District and Second Team All-State honors while averaging 11 points, five assists, three rebounds and three steals per game.

His accomplishments have continued with Team Blessed TX 17U.

Hampton was named to the G1 Series All-Session First Team in his GASO debut and earned All Duel Third Team recognition during his debut at The Circuit.

His recruitment has followed.

Hampton reports offers from St. Xavier University, William Penn University, Paul Quinn College and Louisiana Christian University, with St. Xavier also listed among his college interests.

Academically, Hampton carries a 4.2 GPA and serves as a Student Ambassador.

He plans to major in Sports Management, and unlike many high school athletes still determining what comes after basketball, Hampton has already identified areas of the sports industry that interest him.

His goal is to continue working in and around sports, particularly in basketball coaching or sports media.

Basketball may be Hampton's current platform, but his long-term vision could keep him connected to the game well after his playing career ends.

Edward “Ed” White III | 2027 | Fort Bend Travis High School

Edward “Ed” White III continues to build his résumé as a Class of 2027 point guard at Fort Bend Travis High School.

White has earned Second Team All-District 21-6A recognition twice while developing as a lead guard. He also competes with Rashard Lewis Academy.

White has shown the ability to handle point-guard responsibilities, create opportunities for teammates, attack the paint and contribute from the perimeter. His willingness to defend and play within the flow of the game adds another dimension to his profile.

His recruitment has also continued to develop, giving White an opportunity to evaluate college basketball options as he approaches his final high school season.

White's available public profile lists a 3.4 GPA, adding an academic component to his basketball résumé.

Basketball can open doors, but eventually every student-athlete must determine what he wants to find on the other side of those doors.

For these seven players, that process has already begun.

The All-N-One Labor Day Showcase gave them another stage to demonstrate what they can do as basketball players.

Their academics, faith, service, leadership and career ambitions provide a better picture of who they are becoming beyond the game.
