In his triumphant visit to his native Maine, Cooper Flagg, a highly regarded senior committed to Duke University, showcased his exceptional skills on the basketball court. Coming agonizingly close to achieving a triple-double, Flagg's performance captivated the audience. The game unfolded as the dominant Montverde Academy, holding the prestigious top rank in the nation, soundly defeated Gonzaga, ranked second, in a resounding victory of 93-51.
Flagg achieved an impressive stat line of 23 points, 10 rebounds, nine blocks, and five assists in his long-awaited return. Simultaneously, his brother Ace Flagg made his debut start of the season, displaying a decent performance with six points and four rebounds to contribute to the team's triumph.
Throughout the entire game, Montverde Academy displayed a well-balanced offensive strategy, securing a wire-to-wire victory. The notable efforts came from Robert Wright III, a highly touted Baylor commit, who finished with 15 points and nine assists.
