The BCAM 2024 BOYS Reaching Higher Team Camp has kicked off with an exciting Day 1, featuring some of the top D1 teams in the region. Here's a breakdown of the results:

Muskegon started strong with a narrow 43-42 win over Detroit UPREP, but later fell to Birmingham Brother Rice 44-42. Birmingham Brother Rice also faced off against Grand Rapids Northview, securing a 38-32 victory.

East Kentwood dominated Birmingham Groves with a 56-43 win, and then went on to defeat Lansing Sexton 60-48. Lansing Sexton's only win of the day came against Birmingham Groves.

Meanwhile, Novi Detroit Catholic Central struggled to find their footing, losing 39-30 to Byron Center. Byron Center, on the other hand, had a strong day, also defeating Grand Ledge 63-27.

In other matchups, Rockford took down AA Huron 50-46, but fell to Lake Orion 58-37. Lake Orion's strong performance was matched by Orchard Lake St. Mary's, who defeated Grand Rapids Northview 61-42.

UD Jesuit had a successful day, first beating Grand Rapids Catholic Central 54-42, and then edging out Lansing Waverly 58-53. Lansing Waverly's only win came against Warren Lincoln, which they defeated 53-39.

Wayne Memorial impressed with a 55-34 win over Detroit King, and then followed up with a 61-31 victory over Ferndale. Freeland also had a strong outing, defeating Detroit Renaissance 61-45.

In other matchups of the day, Fraser fell to Dearborn 67-24, and Detroit Cass Tech took down Adrian 50-44.
