Ethan Taylor: The Most Physically Gifted Big Man in His Class?

  08/12/2025

Ethan Taylor is a prospect whose physical gifts immediately jump off the page. Measuring in at 7’0” with a 7’3” wingspan, he has the size and length to tower over opponents, but it’s his athleticism that separates him from the pack. Taylor runs the floor fluidly, gets off his feet explosively, and has enough agility to navigate traffic in the paint.

In the post, Taylor is a force — capable of spinning off contact, rising for powerful dunks, and finishing as a consistent lob threat. His conditioning is still a work in progress, but as he continues to build stamina and play with a consistently aggressive edge, his dominance inside should only grow.

One of Taylor’s most overlooked skills is his passing. Whether it’s finding a cutter from the post or delivering a quick read on the short-roll, his vision adds another layer to his offensive arsenal. He also shows touch at the line, converting 68% of his free throws despite an unorthodox release.

Defensively, Taylor fits well in drop coverage or “ice” schemes, with enough lateral quickness to occasionally hedge or switch. He’s already a solid rim protector and area rebounder, but with improved timing and positioning, he could become elite in both categories.

Ultimately, Taylor may be the most physically gifted big man in his class. His rapid improvement suggests that as his assertiveness grows, so too will his impact — potentially making him one of the most dominant frontcourt players in the country.
