Player Spotlight: Cameron Williams – Mobility, Touch, and Defensive Presence

  08/18/2025

Cameron Williams has quickly become one of the most intriguing prospects in the class of 2026. Standing at 6-foot-11 with shoes on, Williams combines length, athleticism, and skill development to project as a high-upside two-way big.

Williams’ physical profile is impressive: a long, lean build with a 7-foot-1.5 wingspan, terrific mobility, and the ability to cover the floor at his size. He’s a bouncy vertical athlete, capable of finishing emphatically around the rim, while also showing soft natural touch and the beginnings of a face-up game. His mechanics suggest he could eventually stretch the floor, even flashing comfort shooting off the dribble with a relatively quick release.

Around the basket, Williams uses his strong left hand to make difficult finishes, while defensively he is a proven rim protector, averaging 3.3 blocks per game in 3SSB play. He also contributes on the glass, averaging 8.5 rebounds per game, including 2.4 on the offensive end, using his activity and timing to extend possessions.

Defensively, Williams has the tools to be versatile. He sits in a stance when pulled to the perimeter, slides his feet, and contests shots without over-committing, though lateral quickness and foot angle discipline remain areas for growth.

Physically, Williams is cut but still lean, with a narrower natural core. As he continues to add strength and muscle mass, his game should rise to new levels, allowing him to better play through contact and maximize his two-way impact.

With his blend of size, mobility, rim protection, and budding offensive skill, Cameron Williams is a name to know in the class of 2026 and a prospect with one of the higher long-term upsides in the class.
