Josh Irving’s Final Three: The Big Man on the Brink of A Decision

For Josh Irving, the 6-foot-11 big man out of Pasadena High School (CA), the college basketball dream is getting very real.

The four-star center in the 2026 class has officially cut his list to three programs: Kentucky, Louisville, and Texas A&M — according to his agent, Harrison Gaines of Slash Sports.

Each of these schools has made its case, hosted him on official visits, and left a strong impression. Now, Irving stands on the edge of one of the biggest decisions of his young career.

Before narrowing things down, Irving’s recruitment had a national feel. Heavy hitters like Kansas, SMU, San Diego State, and USC were all in pursuit, hoping to add his size, footwork, and potential to their frontcourt.

But over time, it became clear that three programs stood out the most — each for different reasons, each offering a unique path forward.

According to Rivals’ Top 150 Rankings, Irving sits as the No. 40 overall player in the 2026 class, the No. 6 center, and the No. 9 overall prospect in California. That ranking reflects not just his natural size and athleticism, but also the progress he has made in refining his post moves, rim protection, and understanding of the game.

With all three visits complete, the next step is to make a commitment. A decision could come any day now, and when it does, expect a ripple effect across the 2026 recruiting landscape.

Whoever lands Irving won’t just be getting size — they’ll be getting a cerebral, coachable big man with the mindset to lead and the potential to dominate.

Until then, all eyes are on Pasadena.
