La Lumiere delivered a balanced and efficient performance to secure a 68–49 win over Sunrise Christian Academy in La Porte Invitational play, using shooting efficiency and control of the glass to separate over four quarters. La Lumiere finished the night shooting 50% from the field (22-44) and an impressive 50% from three-point range (14-28), consistently stretching the floor and punishing defensive breakdowns. Jacob Webber led all scorers with 24 points, knocking down 6-of-8 from deep and adding timely free throws to keep momentum firmly on La Lumiere’s side. Ferlandes Wright (16 points, 9 rebounds) and Devin Cleveland (15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists) provided strong two-way contributions, helping La Lumiere win the rebounding battle and control tempo.
Sunrise Christian struggled to find rhythm offensively, shooting 35% from the field (19-54) and 24% from three (6-25), which made sustained scoring runs difficult. Avery Moses led Sunrise Christian with 13 points, while Christian Matos and Jon Dzabatou chipped in 12 points apiece, with Dzabatou adding a team-high 8 rebounds. Despite forcing turnovers and competing defensively, Sunrise Christian couldn’t overcome the shooting disparity or La Lumiere’s ball movement, as the winning side totaled 19 assists and multiple players finished with positive plus-minus ratings.
