Long Island Lutheran Outlasts La Lumiere 67–60 in Physical La Porte Invitational Battle

Long Island Lutheran earned a hard-fought 67–60 win over La Lumiere at the La Porte Invitational, using toughness on the glass and timely scoring to close out a competitive matchup. Long Island Lutheran shot 44% from the field (24–54) and a strong 80% at the free-throw line (16–20), which proved decisive in a one-possession game late. Jamaal McKnight led all scorers with 23 points, adding 10 assists and eight rebounds for a complete performance, while Kayden Allen contributed 19 points and six rebounds. Moussa Kammisoko controlled the interior with 12 points and eight rebounds, and Henry Beckett chipped in eight boards as Long Island Lutheran won the rebounding battle 38–28.

La Lumiere battled throughout but struggled to find consistent efficiency, finishing at 32% from the field (19–60) despite knocking down 11 three-pointers. Jonathan Sanderson carried the scoring load with 23 points, five rebounds, and seven assists, hitting 5-of-10 from deep, while Jacob Webber added 14 points and Devin Cleveland finished with 13 points and three assists. La Lumiere generated open looks but couldn’t capitalize at the rim or at the foul line (11–22), allowing Long Island Lutheran to maintain control in the closing minutes. Ultimately, rebounding, free-throw efficiency, and McKnight’s playmaking made the difference in a gritty tournament win.
