01/12/2026

Link Academy delivered a composed, all-around performance to secure a 73–54 victory over Iowa United at the La Porte Invitational, separating early and maintaining control throughout. Link shot an efficient 54% from the field (29–54) and generated consistent paint pressure while sharing the ball, finishing with 15 assists. Carlos Medlock Jr. led all scorers with 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting, adding three steals to spark both ends. Trent Perry followed with 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting, while Luca Foster chipped in 12 points and converted 6-of-6 at the free-throw line. Davion Thompson (7 rebounds, 7 assists) and Tristan Reed (7 rebounds, 2 blocks) anchored the defensive effort as Link held Iowa United to one shot and limited clean perimeter looks.
Iowa United struggled to find an offensive rhythm, shooting 38% from the floor (21–56) and 25% from three (4–16), which made sustained runs difficult. Avery Huston paced Iowa United with 15 points, while Jordan Sigmon added 11 points despite shooting challenges from the perimeter. Kuany Mading provided energy on the glass with 10 rebounds, but Iowa United couldn’t overcome Link Academy’s efficiency, ball pressure, and depth. Link’s ability to control tempo, win key matchups, and generate balanced production across the lineup proved decisive in a convincing tournament win.
