The St. James leaned on rebounding, depth, and late-game execution to secure a 67–57 win over CATS Academy at the La Porte Invitational, pulling away in the fourth quarter after a competitive opening half. Despite shooting just 30% from the field (19–63), The St. James dominated the possession battle with a decisive 40–33 rebounding edge, including 15 offensive boards that led to 18 second-chance points. Jahda Swan led the way with 18 points, five rebounds, and three assists, while David Massengo added 14 points and eight rebounds. Jamaal Briscoe contributed 11 points and six rebounds, and Luis Carrillo-Moss made a major impact on the glass with 11 rebounds to help The St. James control tempo and close strong with a 28-point fourth quarter.

CATS Academy battled but struggled to convert from the perimeter, shooting just 22% from three (4–18), which limited their ability to erase the deficit. Josiah Adamson paced CATS with 14 points, while Jaxson Terry added 12 points and seven rebounds, and Ceick-Oumar Fadiga chipped in 11 points on efficient shooting. Although CATS shot a solid 42% from the field (21–50) and scored 30 points in the paint, turnovers and rebounding disparities proved costly. The St. James’ physicality, bench production, and ability to capitalize on extra possessions ultimately made the difference in a composed tournament win.
